Through our partnership with Singularity University (SU), a Silicon Valley icon, N Square is excited to announce exciting opportunities for nuclear threats professionals to engage with this fascinating community. Opportunity 1: Nuclear Threats Impact Scholars
We’re excited to announce the N Square/SU Nuclear Threats Impact Scholars program. N Square is sponsoring 1-2 Impact Scholars to work with the SU community on solutions that can bring new momentum to these elusive challenges. Deadline for application: July 12, 2017.

Opportunity 2: Global Grand Challenge Awards at SU Summit
If you are using new or emerging technologies to reduce nuclear weapons threat we encourage you to apply for a Global Grand Challenge Award in Security. More details here.

This flagship event is attended by 2000 leaders and changemakers who share a commitment to harnessing emerging technologies to improve life on the planet for 1 billion people or more over the next decade. More details here.



Old Dogma, New Tricks

“Mutually assured destruction is an old dogma,” said the President of the United States at a meeting with NATO’s nuclear planning group, “Especially with the threat of control systems being hacked.” Standing firm alongside the US Secretary of State, the President offered to reduce the number of US nuclear weapons in Europe and asked that Russia do the same.

Mind Shift: Exponential Tech and the Abundant Future

Singularity University is on a mission. Founded by artificial intelligence expert Ray Kurzweil and Peter Diamandis, founder of the X-Prize and various commercial space exploration companies, SU is using “exponential” technologies to build a bridge to world in which we are able to meet the basic needs of every man, woman and child on earth —including safety from nuclear weapons threat. Now SU is helping nerdist, comedian and podcast giant Chris Hardwick to blow our minds on NBC’s Awesome Show.
